FUNDRAISING
Over the last five years St Patrick's Church has been extensively renovated.
Works included sandblasting of stonework, re-pointing the Campile, illuminating the building, and the provision of a new glass entrance.
The organ was also completely renovated, an access ramp was added to the church, and extensive interior decoration was carried out.
The parishioners contributed over 400,000 Euro during this time. Their generosity ensures the St Patrick's church for future generations.

St. Patrick's Church, Lower Glanmire Road, Cork, has served many thousands of people since it's foundation in 1832. Past generations of parishioners, many of whom emigrated throughout the world in the darker years of Irish history, had through their contributions ensured and sustained the Church building in the past. Now it is our turn. Over the past two years, a hard working Fund Raising Committee have raised over 330,000 euro towards the necessary renovation and refurbishment works.
This is the FINAL PUSH, a CONFINED MEMBERS SUPER DRAW, with cash prizes totalling 52,000 euro.
As with past generations, you are now being given the chance of doing your bit to securring St. Patrick's Church for future generations.

The above is a sample of a Draw Ticket, originally it was being offerred to the Parishioners who normally support the Church by their attendance at Mass and other weekly services.
It was drawn to the attention of the Fund Raising Committee that there were other Friends of St. Patrick's Church Renovation Fund who are de facto Parishioners, however, due to their living away from the parish they would not be aware of the Confined Draw.
Now, through the wonders of technology in the form of the Parish Website, www.stpatrickscork.com, we are able to invite everyone who may have had even some remote connection with St. Patrick's, an opportunity to participate and do their bit for the Church. The Parish Records show that some 43,000 baptisms and 12,526 marraiges have been celebrated at St. Patrick's, and it is to be assummed that many persons abroad would have some root here and may be listed in the Records. These records have been carefully maintained and are available to everyone for research, and hopefully, in the words of Fr. Christy, 'could consider themselves very fortunate to have been born in Cork------the real Capital of Ireland'!

Canon Leader thanked all those Friends of St. Patrick's who contributed to this Fund Raising draw which was a complete success. He also thanked the members of the Fund Raising Committee who worked so hard over the past 18 months, and remarked that the pleasant part was now to come, spending the money and the paying of bills.
A number of volunteers from the congregation came forward to make the draw.
